Tidbits around the cafe: These small framed images are from the 1800’s, originally published in Scotland as part of a 40 volume series, “The Naturalist’s Library.” They were drawn from life, as in with the critters in front of the artist. Then they were colored from wood etching, whereby the image is etched into wood, and ink is applied to the wood with the paper then placed upon it to take up the color. They were found in Baton Rouge at an estate sale in a plastic bin in a garage. Favorites were picked out and taken to be framed to give them a new life at Plantry. (They’re centered by a modern local piece from the older sister of a girl from Dr. Crifasi’s high school class @laurenbarksdalehillart.)
Tidbits around the cafe: A Hare’s Tale. The first of Hareold’s many chapters, eventually to be used as parchment paper for to-go items. 📜

Chef Shannon and I are making a superfood detox tea bark for the women attending Lynn Duhe’s talk at Plantry tomorrow night. The topics are hormone balance and skin health. I’m going to give a brief introduction about how our skin starts with our food. Light menu bites will be served. Hi there! I have received several inquiries about whether or not I am privately taking patients. My priority at the moment is starting the success of Plantry. While I am currently practicing medicine at local hospitals, I am not practicing in an office or performing any concierge medicine at this time. I look forward to expanding for a holistic medical center a year or two out in the future.
Although I do have several health-minded industries for which I have provided catering or event space, I am not in partnership with any practices and any practice I cater for or provide event space for is not an indication of any business relationship, personal insight of their practice, or condoning of their practice or products. I do welcome everyone where they are on their health and culinary journey!
